Managers can be involved in their employees' training in various ways, and we who design these initiatives can aim for different levels of manager engagement. This can range from simply asking an informal question in the lunchroom before a training session to engaging in guided coaching and feedback over several months.


In this video, I will cover four different activities that you can design for your managers:

  1. Inform the managers that their employees are attending a training session and explain the managers' role.
  2. Have a goal-setting conversation before the training.
  3. Wish the employee good luck before the training day.
  4. Follow up during the first week back after the training.
